So, it’s the year you get married. You’ve got the venue, booked the photographer and now it’s time to start thinking about your bridal makeup. I’ve rounded up my favourite looks that we’ll be seeing across this year, to give you a bit of inspiration for your own bridal makeup.

Monique Lhuillier Spring 2018

For me this look is an absolute winner, it’s a ‘classic’ bridal look, but with an edgy twist. Skin is dewy, and hydrated with an incredible glow whilst the eyes are kept matte with natural woody tones. Interestingly, a lot of the eyes we saw for this year are more of a flat, single shade, like this one. Paired with a brown toned, nude lip and you’ve got the perfect bridal look.

Reem Acra Fall 2018

It’s no secret that I am a die hard ‘dewy skin’ fan. To me, it is the most flattering finish you can have for your makeup – who doesn’t want to look like they are the epitome of health and goodness? I challenge you to find me someone! So…can we all just take a moment to appreciate this incredible look? There’s something so ethereal about it, perhaps it’s the pairing with the dainty gypsophila crown (by the way, this simple flower crown is all the rage for 2018!) but whatever it is, it’s working for me, and i’m sure I’ll be getting a lot of requests from my upcoming brides.

Sachin & Babi Spring 2018

I adore this look. If you’re looking for something fun, flirty and just a little bit quirky, then this is the one for you. Skin was flawless and radiant (not dewy, there’s a definite difference!) with a playful pop of sparkle drawn across the lid. This simple metallic eyeliner was seen on a number of different shows and is a sure fire way to keep your makeup bang on trend. Silver was used here but you could tie this look in with any colour scheme you had. Perfect for a spring wedding!

Ines De Santo

I love this full on glam look, it’s perfect for those brides wanting something a little bit stronger. Shades of grey and charcoal were used, with big lashes top and bottom, to create a glamorous, sophisticated look. Steering clear from too much blush and pairing with a darker nude lip means you’ll be well on your way to badass bride territory.

Naeem Khan Fall 2018

This look is definitely not for the faint hearted but I’ve got to say is my absolute favourite of the lot! I love a red lip and I’m so pleased we’re seeing more of it coming through for this year. I prefer to stay away from any sort of eye detail if I’m going for a red lip so this look just screams all sorts of great things to me! Leaving your eye bare (or in this case, washed with a rusty orange) allows your lip to really do the talking and doesn’t detract from that pop of colour. I’ve got to say though – I just love EVERYTHING about this show. Gorgeous detailing, fabulous headpieces and daring makeup. Yes, yes and more yes from me!

When you’re picking your look it’s so important that you still feel like yourself (don’t go for a red lip if you’ve never worn one before for example!) but most of these looks can be adapted to suit your big day. And remember, whatever the trends are for this year, there is nothing more down right bloody gorgeous, than a woman who feels good about herself (with or without the latest makeup trend!)
